Running Milestone!

well, my baby steps have paid off! I went downtown to forsyth… warmed up with 1/2 mile walk, then I RAN 2 STRAIGHT MILES!!!!! walked another 1/2 mile, and the RAN A 3rd MILE!!!!!

THIS IS HUGE!!! Then I walked another 1/2 mile for cool down! and with the superb walking for cooldown, i am not even in pain!

Ugh.

I am a baby runner… and I don’t like it. I want to be long and tough…. some day. some day. I realize that it is one day at a time that i will be better, and longer. I need to remember that despite the fact that just over 1 mile on solid ground is wearing me out… i’ve come a long way…. from where i was in April. I am confident that I will be able to run the run portion of the triathlon next week because my body will be super warmed up by the time the bike is over, and my swim will be confident. yeah.

so, question! RUNNERS HELP ME WITH THIS! What causes that dry, thirsty feeling in the back of my throat after 1 mile of running… I feel as if I could keep going if it weren’t for the incredible thirst. How do I combat this?

It’s not the same

on the ground! I went out for a total of 2 Miles, ran the first, walked the second…. SHeize! what am i going to do? that first mile on solid ground nearly killed me…. ugh, i guess it’s up and back at it tomorrow…. I am not going to say that running on the treadmill up to now has been a waste, as it was certainly difficult at first to get that first mile down even on the machine. so, i’m confident with some persistence that i’ll be able to master the street/grass.

Run run run, getting better

hey. run/swim today! the miles on the treadmill are getting easier! hooray! that first mile went down with ease…. what a great feeling. Must be the new suit! wore my new Tyr Tri Bikini today. hey, it’s 90% mental, right? might as well give myself that mental boost. :) I ran in it AND swam in it… then wore it to my therapist appointment… and guess what? it really did dry fast……
